The officials were found guilty of misbehavior including hosting lavish banquets at the public expense, using government vehicles for private purposes and drinking alcohol at lunch on workdays, according to the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

In addition to government bodies, officials of two State-owned enterprises were also exposed as having violated the rules. Three managers of the Lanzhou company of China National Petroleum Corporation were punished for lavish banquets, and a manager of the Aluminum Corporation of China was warned for using a company vehicle to visit his family's tomb.

The commission started three weeks ago releasing a weekly report to expose official malpractice. Since then, 546 cases have been exposed.

All of the cases violated the "eight-point" rules put forward by the CPC Central Committee in December 2012. Government officials are required to get close to the people by cleaning up undesirable work styles including extravagance and hedonism.
