Octopus robot can be used for rescue

A newly invented rescue robot can carry a person, Oct 28, 2013. The rescue robot dubbed "six claws octopus", invented at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, makes its debut on Monday. The one-meter robot is equipped with three electrical machines on each of its six claws that enable it to move at a speed of 1.2km/h and bear weight of 200kg. It is designed to handle various tasks such as moving, searching and detecting under extreme environments, and can be used for rescue work.[Photo by Lai Xinlin/Asianewsphoto]
