BEIJING - More efforts to implement the Prevention and Control of Radioactive Pollution law are needed, Shen Yueyue, vice- chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, said on Monday.

Shen made the comments at a symposium marking the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the law at the Great Hall of the People.

Shen said the law provides a legal guarantee for the country to transform its economic growth mode and promote ecological progress.

Shen urged authorities at all levels to highlight the implementation of the law through extra efforts to disseminate the legislation and strengthened supervision.
