Chopsticks Club to herald start of Chinese New Year

Members of the China-friendly Chopsticks Club will gather on Tuesday for an evening of networking, cocktails and dinner to mark the impending Year of the Rooster. The evening will include an awards ceremony that will honor people who have made outstanding achievements in the worlds of culture and business. The event is set for The Mayfair Hotel, Stratton Street, London.

Manchester set for massive Year of the Rooster party

The Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors exhibition will be a key part of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Manchester, from Thursday to Sunday. The display will mark the exhibit's first appearance in Britain. The lantern display will illuminate Exchange Square for the festivities, billed as the biggest in the UK outside London. The show by artist Xia Nan was commissioned for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
