The Baltic Guitar Quartet is often presented as the leading guitar ensemble in the Baltic countries. Formed in 2004, the quartet includes young musicians from Lithuania and abroad who have established reputations as winners of international competitions as well as solo artists. The quartet's playing is marked by sensitive, colourful and congenial ensemble-playing and exudes a subtle, unpretentious musicianship.

The audience is often intrigued with their concert programmes which include an extensive guitar repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary music. Forever in search of new pieces, the ensemble performs their own arrangements of pieces by Bach, Rossini and De Falla to Balkan and even rock music. Chris Ruebens, has written several compositions specially for the ensemble. For their most recent project with tenor , the quartet arranged Italian and Lithuanian songs in a catchy and heartwarming programme. Prominent Lithuanian composers, such as Jurgis Juozapaitis, a recipient of the Lithuanian National Prize, and Jonas Tamulionis, have also dedicated some of their works to this promising quartet.

The BGQ made its international debut in May, 2006 in Tallinn, Estonia. Since then they have been invited to play in Iserlohn Guitar Symposium '07, '08, '09, '11 (Germany), Bad Aibling "Seitensprünge" festival '07, '08 (Germany), and have performed at major festivals and concert halls in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
