Over 100 buried in SW China landslide

A landslide that occurred in Southwest China's Sichuan province on Saturday morning smashed some 40 homes, where about 100 people are feared to be buried, according to sources with the authorities in Maoxian county.
The accident occured as a reult to heavy rainfall at around 6 am on June 24 at Xinmo village in Maoxian county of Aba Tibetan automonous prefecure, blocking a two kilometers of a river course.
Local goverment has launched a level I geological disaster and emergency response.
A rescue operation is underway.
