Cambodia launches Cambodian edition of <EM>Xi Jinping: Governance of China</EM>

The Cambodian edition of Xi Jinping: Governance of China made its debut in Phnom Penh on Tuesday as Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen called on the young people of the country to read the book to understand how a country should be governed.

The book, which outlines the political ideas of the top leadership in China, has already been published in 16 languages, and 6.2 million copies have been distributed worldwide.

Hun Sen said at a ceremony marking the book's Cambodian language launch that the book has incorporated important ideas of Xi on governance, and can be read as the essence of China's development.

"The Chinese government has been sparing no efforts in improving its capacities on governance and its rule of law," he said.

The book has also recorded the country's efforts in the area of anti-corruption and the deepening of reform in an all-round way, he said.

The publishing of the book in Cambodian language followed the publishing of the book's Thai language version in Bangkok on Friday.

Jiang Jianguo, minister of the State Council Information Office, said at the ceremony that the idea that centers on the people thread throughout the book.

He added that Xi has always spoken up for the people, and devised the train of thought and measures of reform and development keeping the interests of the people in mind, to achieve equality in the society gradually.

The country's improvement in public welfare is also evident in the past five years, as it managed to lift more than 60 million people out of poverty and its total number of college students reached 37 million, he said.
