Chinese coast guard in East China's Fujian province organized patrols for comprehensive law enforcement in the waters near the islands of Taiwan and the neighboring Matsu and Wuqiu, starting on Monday, a spokesperson said on Monday.
Zhu Anqing, spokesperson of the China Coast Guard's East China Sea Bureau, said that from Monday, the Fujian Coast Guard organized task forces to carry out comprehensive law enforcement patrols in those areas.
These activities were carried out to exercise the jurisdiction over the Taiwan island and its affiliated islands in accordance with the one-China principle, said Zhu.
