Twenty-two night markets will reopen to the public in Tianjin, according to the local commerce bureau. They will stay open until dawn.
Night markets had been suspended since the coronavirus outbreak in the city early last year.
The bureau said it will develop more quality night economy areas near major landmarks and cultural squares, including Golden Street, the Five Great Avenues and the Italian Style Area.
More cultural activities including cross-talk — a folk custom -- as well as drama and art shows are also scheduled.
The bureau said it will boost the night economy by approving the opening of more 24-hour bookstores and convenience stores in the near future.
