Dong Qichang exhibition now on at Shanghai Museum

One of the most important figures in China’s art history, Dong Qichang (1555-1636) is now being featured in a large-scale exhibition at the Shanghai Museum.

The exhibits of the 154 paintings and calligraphy works came from the collection of the museum as well as loaned pieces from 15 other museums and institutions from home and abroad. This is the largest exhibition of Dong in the Chinese mainland, according to Yang Zhigang, director of the Shanghai Museum.
