NEW DELHI, Dec. 6 -- India's exports to China have been increasing over the past three years, said president of Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) Ganesh Kumar Gupta on Thursday.

Exports grew by 13 percent during 2016-17, by 31 percent in 2017-18, and by about 17 percent in the first six months of 2018-19.

According to him, India's exports of marine products to China grew up by over 100 percent, organic chemicals by 40 percent, plastic and plastic products by 70 percent, gems and jewellery by 60 percent and mechanical machineries and appliances by 20 percent since the financial year 2016-17.

A sharp decline in exports of copper, ores and minerals, zinc to China showed that India's exports were moving towards value added exports, according to him.

The FIEO president said that increase in Indian exports to China was in line with the general trend in India's exports.
