DPRK foreign minister to visit China this week

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea's Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho will visit China from Dec 6 to 8 at the invitation of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The announcement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang on Tuesday afternoon.

During his visit, Chinese leaders will meet with Ri and Wang will exchange in-depth views with him on bilateral ties, the situation on the Korean Peninsula and other issues concerning both countries, Geng said.

China believes Ri's visit will help further implement the consensus made by the top leaders of both countries, promote China-DPRK relations and strengthen communication and cooperation on the peninsula issue, he added.
