Wrote and edited first book with classmates

Started working for Ta Kung Pao in Shanghai

1948

Graduated from Soochow University in Shanghai

Started working for Ta Kung Pao's Hong Kong office

1952

Started working for New Evening Post in Hong Kong

1953

The screenplay, The Peerless Beauty, written by Cha is released

1955

First martial arts story The Book and the Sword serialized in New Evening Post

1957

The Legend of the Condor Heroes- first part of the Condor Trilogy - serialized in Hong Kong Commercial Daily

1959

Co-founded Ming Pao

The Return of the Condor Heroes serialized in Ming Pao

1961

The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber- last part of the Condor Trilogy - serialized in Ming Pao

1969

The Deer and the Cauldron-Cha's last martial arts novel- serialized

Retired from Ming Pao
