Guizhou sky running event to push runners to new heights
The 2018 Jinsha Guizhou International Sky Running Challenge will kick off on Sept 22 as the second leg of four in China's sky running series.
The three-day running event includes 50 kilometers of cross-country, 9 km of experience running and 6 km of climbing.
According to the organizing committee, the sky running series routes must be charted in mountainous areas above 1,500 meters with an accumulative vertical climb of more than 2,000 meters and 30-degree slopes. Runners will enjoy a natural view of the sky, as if it was close enough to touch.
The latter two legs will be staged in East China's Zhejiang province in October and December.
Statistics show that China is now home to 130 million outdoor enthusiasts, while Guizhou province is rich in nature and keen to attract cross country runners nationwide.
