China's Macao to set up commission to safeguard national security
MACAO -- Macao's Executive Council has finished its discussion on an administrative draft to set up a commission to safeguard national security, the special administrative region (SAR)'s government news bureau said here on Tuesday.
The SAR Executive Council has discussed the draft on Monday and agreed to set up Macao SAR Safeguarding National Security Commission, which will help SAR chief executive make decisions on matters concerning national security, and will handle such matters in general and coordinate works among government departments.
The draft will become effective in 30 days after the date of publication.
The SAR Executive Council is an official body designed to assist the SAR chief executive in decision-making procedure. Chief executive shall consult the Executive Council before taking important decisions.
