Deng Yaping, China's four-time Olympic table tennis champion and one of the greatest to ever play the sport, talked to CGTN about how Chinese citizens are changing their lifestyles to be more active.
After the 2008 Beijing Olympics, sports became more commonplace in China, something that's led to 19 new events being added for the 13th National Games.
"Now you can see we have many professional sport facilities with high quality for Chinese kids," said Deng.
"Minds have been changed a lot. Lots of parents and their kids think sports is for fun, and it can make people physical and mental stronger rather than to become elite athletes."
