Speaking during the reception, Dr Margaret Lusaka, wife of Kenya's Senate speaker, Kenneth Lusaka, said many women who have made contributions in key causes should be celebrated.

"When Kenya was going through difficult political challenges last year, Racheal Ruto, the wife of Kenya's deputy president traversed the whole country encouraging people to pray so that peace may prevail. We should therefore celebrate her," she said.
