One of the most anticipated films, the romantic comedy Miss Puff will open across Chinese mainland on Feb 9, in time for the upcoming Valentine's Day on Feb 14.

Based on the true story of a couple from Xi'an, the capital in Shaanxi province, the 95-minute feature tracks the love story of a Thailand-educated woman and a college student, who is five years younger than his love interest.

Zhang Xinyi — who plays the protagonist — is best known for the hit TV drama Beijing Love Story. And she says the movie also marks her directorial debut.

The college student is played by singer-actor Wang Yuexin.

The cast also features singer-actress Tan Weiwei, actress Jiang Shan and actor Yuan Hong, Zhang's husband in real life.

The movie's theme song was recorded in Belgium, with renowned Japanese composer Shigeru Umebayashi leading a 44-member symphony orchestra.
